More games = more fun!

We've been jumping out of our skin waiting to tell you the great news about our new partners!  A system designed to play re-imagined tabletop games needs to include board games, right?  Well you're in for a treat!  We couldn't be more excited to announce our new partners Monocle Society and Tabletopia!

Monocle Society

We are incredibly excited to announce that Monocle Society will be bringing their storytelling game Weave, along with additional games, to Tilt Five.  We met the Monocle Society team while we were at GenCon and PAX West and immediately struck up a friendship.  This is a phenomenal team making incredibly cool games.

Weave is an easy to learn, highly improvisational storytelling game. No matter where your adventures take you, you’ll use the same cards, dice, and free app. You can tell an entire story in one night or embark on an epic journey. Weave stores all your content in the cloud with its free app, including your created stories and character sheets, along with the games rules and a diverse library of themed playsets. Using roleplaying, imagination, and the Weave app, you can explore multiple worlds and tell countless stories each time you play.

"It's clear that Tilt Five has a passion for tabletop and technology, and we couldn't be more excited to bring Weave and other experiences to their platform. Jeri's energy and excitement is contagious. After every meeting I walk away with more ideas than when I arrived," Kyle Kinkade, CEO Monocle Society.

You can pick up Weave, and start your journey now at https://weave.game/

Tabletopia

You all kept asking for this, and we listened!  With Tabletopia you'll be able to play a multitude of licensed board games, and you can even build your own!

Tabletopia is a digitial sandbox system for playing high-quality, licensed board games.  When you choose a game to play, the virtual board is set up and ready to go, just pull up a chair and start playing.  Play how you want with whom you want: guests don’t even need accounts to play. Or make your own games, no programming skills required.

Imagine a multi-platform digital environment with instant access to a multitude of licensed board games… Welcome to Tabletopia!

  • Online arena for playing board games just like in real life. Play on Windows platform, or download on Steam and Google Play.
  • If your friends don't have Tilt Five, they can still join in via PC, phone, or tablet.
  • Unique editor for building new board games from scratch and bringing paper games to the digital. No programming skills required!
  • Specialized tools for playtesting, demonstrating, promoting, and monetizing your games.

You can try it out now by heading to https://tabletopia.com/

Stay tuned, we have even more exciting game announcements coming very soon!

Almost to the halfway mark
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2019 at 01:43:48 AM

We're almost halfway through the campaign

It's hard to believe that it's been 15 days since we started the campaign, and we still have 20 days to go.  We've crossed the $1MM mark already, and we're well on our way to unlocking the next stretch goal.

We've been hard at work sealing additional content deals, and without further adieu we're extremely happy and excited to share with you a few of our new partners!

HappyGiant is bringing HoloGrid: Monster Battle to Tilt Five

HoloGrid is the award winning tabletop AR game created by HappyGiant in partnership with Phil Tippett and Tippett Studios. A tactical strategy game that combines elements of chess, board games, and collectible card games, HoloGrid was inspired by the famed "HoloChess" (aka Dejarik) scene from Star Wars that Tippett created over 40 years ago. The game used photogrammetry to capture and bring to life Tippett's creatures like never before in a fast paced AR board game that fans of the original movie will recognize and love.

"HappyGiant is a big supporter of what Tilt Five is doing and we are stoked to bring our game "HoloGrid: Monster Battle" to the platform! We can't wait to play it!" Michael Levine, HappyGiant.

OneMadOgre is bringing Critical Brick to Tilt Five

Critical Brick is a custom RPG character builder and gameplay manager. Inspired by Lego Minifigures. The goal is to build the best next generation character designer and character management system. They’re starting with Pathfinder 2e and hope to expand to other rulesets quickly. They’ll combine awesome artwork, a 3D rendering/animation engine, and a complete rules engine. Game Masters and other party members that are using the app will be able to cast spells, trade weapons, or buff each other while the app recalculates your character’s stats in real-time.

"We couldn't think of a better platform to experience Critical Brick on than Tilt Five. The ability to dive into a scene with your characters, play remotely with friends across the globe and to get even closer to suspending disbelief is a dream come true for any gamer. This platform is the future and we are so excited to help bring tabletop gaming to the next level of immersion"  Mike Arney, OneMadOgre.

We did a really quick port of Critical Brick to the Tilt Five system.  Here's a quick through the lens still that we captured after the port:

Critical Brick is on Kickstarter now, show them some love and support their campaign- https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/criticalbrick/legendary-1

Seamly is bringing Epicmode to Tilt Five

Seamly’s app Epicmode, is a clothing design experience where YOU are the designer! The Tilt Five platform is perfect for Epicmode’s mission to create an accessible, agile, creative, collaborative, simulation-driven fashion design app.

Epicmode was created by Sue Spencer as a response to her shameless gaming addictions. Sue played Warcraft for hours every night for many years. She frequently fantasized about being dressed exactly like her character. She also wanted to design armor for her character and upload it into the game. Epicmode and Tilt Five fulfill Sue’s vision to enable every gamer to become a designer. Sue also plans to create a marketplace for like-minded gaming designers to share their Epicmode creations.

“The future road map for Epicmode is wide open. There’s so much that can happen here! From simulating electronic circuits and LEDs to designing with friends around the world, Epicmode frees you from the mouse and keyboard to unleash your greatest creativity. Collaborations with games, movies, and designers will provide fresh new possibilities for digital fashion”  Sue Spencer, Seamly.

You can learn more about Epicmode, and even start designing now, at http://epicmode.co/index.html

That wraps it up for this update.  We hope you're just as excited as we are about the new partner announcements.  Stay tuned for even more.

Let's keep this momentum going, help us spread the word about Tilt Five!  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tiltfive/holographic-tabletop-gaming

Cheers everyone!

We've passed our initial goal by double, and we're getting close to $1 million!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 01, 2019 at 10:38:40 PM

Recap on our first week

What an amazingly incredible first week!  We passed our initial goal in 17 hours, and now we're over double that initial goal and on the verge of passing $1 million!  We also unlocked our first stretch goal, and we're well on our way to hitting the next stretch goal, which lets us add an additional color choice to the XE glasses.  We can't wait to see what color you all decide on as that second option.

We owe a lot of our success in this first week to you all for helping us to get the word out.  We can't thank you enough!  We've received so many nice messages from you saying that you've shared the project with friends who then ended up backing us as well.  It means so much to us that you're excited about what we're doing enough to share that excitement with all of your friends.

Let's keep that momentum going and continue spreading the news about our Kickstarter.

Partner Highlight

We are really excited to have Indie Developer Sébastien Dubois on board as a partner.  He will be bringing his insanely fun AI Robot Combat game Gladiabots to Tilt Five, and we couldn't be happier!  The first time we saw his work on Unity Connect we knew we had to reach out to him.  The graphics are stunning, and the game mechanics are just so damn cool!

You get to assemble your own robot team, build their AI, and then send them into the combat arena to watch your strategy play out.  You can play solo, with over 200 missions available, or multiplayer against your friends.  Think you have what it takes to beat the Tilt Five team?  We can't wait to find out!

It's also a fantastic game to play with your kids, you can have fun playing together while teaching them some fundamentals of programming logic at the same time.

"Gladiabots is kind of my love letter to programming. It's been my passion for a long time now, and I want to communicate it through the game.  I find it sad that a lot of people (programmer or not) consider programming as a boring discipline reserved to à geek elite. I want to show that it can be a very fun and creative activity that anyone with a minimum of will can enjoy,"  Sébastien.

Gladiabots is already available to play now on Steam, so grab a copy now and build up your skills before you get your Tilt Five kit.  It's going to be so much fun to play Gladiabots on Tilt Five!

Stay tuned for some more exciting announcements coming up just around the corner!

We hit our first Stretch Goal!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Sep 29, 2019 at 01:17:57 AM

First Stretch Goal Unlocked!

We woke up today to see that we've already hit our first Stretch Goal!  We're really excited about this, because it means that we've finally reached enough volume that we can offer XE backers, and higher, game boards with another border color!

Note:  the colors we chose for our image are not necessarily the options.  You get to decide amongst a list of available colors when we send out the survey soon.  The choice with the most votes will be the new color option.

We're also excited that we're getting that much closer to our next stretch goal!  Soon we'll be able to unlock another color for the glasses and wand to XE backers and higher!  We've had so many people requesting other colors, and once we get enough volume we'll be able to offer an additional color option.  If you're an LE backer, and this stretch goal excites you, you have time to change your pledge to the XE level and get access to the stretch goals.

Thanks to one of our friends on Discord for the fun color job!  Note: you'll have more options to chose from than just the ones shown here.  In the survey we send out, you'll get to chose what this alternate color option will be. The choice with the most votes will be the new alternate color scheme.

Partner Highlight

In other news we'll be hanging out with one of our software development partners tonight,  Nucleus VR.  For those of you who are interested in more professional Tilt Five applications, they're offering a solution that enables customers to build their own digital twins – autonomously and without coding. Users simply load their 3D CAD data or scanned point cloud on to the platform then visit the Digital Twin on a VR headset, a PC, an Augmented Reality tablet, HoloLens, and soon Tilt Five.  They've been working with an earlier prototype of the Tilt Five glasses for some time now, and they've shown their work at various conventions, including the Space Tech Expo in Pasadena.  We're excited to catch up with them tonight, and see how things are going for them. As a bonus they promised us Margaritas, so we're there!  Tonight's gonna be fun!

Let's keep the momentum going

Thanks everyone for helping to get the word out, and helping us to reach our first stretch goal.  Let's keep the momentum rolling, so we can hit the next stretch goal and unlock another color for the glasses and wand!

We're getting close to the first stretch goal, and we have a shipping update
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 27, 2019 at 01:25:23 AM

Hello all you wonderful Tilters!  It's been an exciting week for us, and we're so happy to have you all with us on this journey.

We're getting really close to our first stretch goal, which is incredibly exciting for us, since unlocking that first stretch goal will let us give you a glimpse of what you can expect for the upcoming stretch goals.  We hope that you'll be just as excited as we are.

Keep spreading the word, so we can keep the momentum up and hit that first stretch goal.  The more people that get Tilt Five, the more people we'll have to play games with!  And we'll be able to attract even more developers, who'll make even more amazing games for us all to play.

Just a quick update regarding shipping.  We've had a lot of questions about whether or not we are EU friendly when it comes to shipping.

We always intended to work with a shipping fulfillment company that is EU friendly, as well as friendly to other countries.  We know how expensive it can be shipping from the U.S. into other countries, and our intent was always to reduce those costs as much as possible.

We're happy to inform everyone that the company we'll be working with is indeed EU friendly, as well as Canada friendly, Australia friendly, China friendly, and U.S. friendly.

We've updated the page to reflect this.  We'll also be adding an update soon with some estimated costs.

Thanks everyone, keep being awesome.
